How to make videos with Make
Make (make.com) runs scenarios on a schedule, and its MCP Client app can call an outside MCP server. Connect it to Cliptude, add a step where you approve the price, and a scenario can turn each week's topic into a finished 16:9 YouTube video from 6 to 60 minutes long.
Cliptude MCP server URL
https://mcp.cliptude.com/mcp
Streamable HTTP. A clp_ key from /developers/ in the connection's API Key / Access token field, the right choice for unattended scenarios. Make also supports OAuth for MCP servers.
How to connect Make to Cliptude
- Create an API key at cliptude.com/developers/.
- In a scenario, add a module from the MCP Client app, such as Call a tool. Click Create a connection, choose + New MCP Server and paste the Cliptude URL.
https://mcp.cliptude.com/mcp - Paste your clp_ key into the API Key / Access token field and save the connection.
- In Call a tool, pick list_templates and click Run once. Your saved Cliptude templates come back as the module's output.
- To give a Make AI agent the same tools, open the agent in Make AI Agents (New), click Add MCP and choose the Cliptude connection. Turn on only the tools it needs, such as list_templates, estimate_credits and get_job.
The MCP Client connection:
MCP Server: + New MCP Server
URL: https://mcp.cliptude.com/mcp
API Key / Access token: clp_…
OAuth redirect URI (if you sign in instead): https://www.make.com/oauth/cb/mcp
MCP Client is in open beta for all Make users, and Make says its functionality and pricing may change. Make recommends testing a server with Call a tool before handing it to the AI module or an agent.
Which way should I connect Make to Cliptude?
Remote MCP server
Start herePaste the URL and sign in with Google. Nothing to install.
Local MCP server
Not in Makeuvx cliptude-mcp with a clp_ key; it can send files from your disk.
CLI and skill
Not in MakeThe Cliptude CLI and skill, for agents that run shell commands.
Why make videos with Make and Cliptude?
Runs on a schedule
A scenario set to Weekly starts the video workflow with no chat open.
Calls one tool at a time
Call a tool runs a single Cliptude tool, such as get_job, with no AI model in between.
Agents can use it too
Make AI Agents (New) adds the Cliptude server with Add MCP, next to Make's own app modules.
Up to an hour long
Finished 16:9 YouTube videos from 6 to 60 minutes, rendered as one MP4.
Real footage and graphics
Cliptude sources footage and archive pictures and builds animated maps, charts, captions and music around the narration.
The price before the build
estimate_credits quotes a job and checks your balance without creating or charging anything.
A weekly Make scenario that makes a Cliptude video after you approve it
- Scenario 1, scheduled Weekly (Monday 9:00): a Make AI Agents (New) agent with the Cliptude server added through Add MCP (list_templates and estimate_credits only) and a research tool you choose writes the week's narration and returns the title, script, template_id and credits.
- MCP Client → Call a tool: create_job with the template_id, title, script and a thumbnail_reference_url. Cliptude creates nothing yet and returns the review (settings, warnings, credits) and a review_token, valid for 24 hours.
- Data store: save the arguments and the review_token under one key. Slack or Email: send yourself the review in plain words with an Approve link to a custom webhook URL that carries that key.
- Scenario 2, started by the custom webhook: read the record, then Call a tool → create_job again with the same arguments plus review_token (and acknowledge, if the review listed items you accept). Save the returned job id.
- Scenario 3, scheduled every 15 minutes: Call a tool → get_job for each saved job id. When the status is completed, post the video link to Slack and delete the record. Before you publish, open the job in Cliptude, or ask a chat agent to run open_editor_project and view_scenes, and look at every frame.
Make skills: putting the Cliptude rules in a Make AI agent's system prompt
Make has no skills folder and the skills CLI has no Make target. The nearest thing is the agent's system prompt, which Make describes as where you "define the agent's purpose and constraints"; it applies in every scenario that uses the agent, and each run can add Additional system instructions mapped from scenario data.
Paste the rules from the cliptude-script skill (research the topic, write the spoken narration, never pass the title as the prompt) into the system prompt, and the parts of the cliptude skill about templates and the review. The cliptude-plan skill directs every shot of an agent-planned video and is over 70 KB; that work suits a coding agent such as Claude Code better than a scheduled scenario.
Keep the tools that spend credits out of the agent. Turn on list_templates, estimate_credits and get_job for it, and call create_job from a Call a tool module after your approval, so a scenario never starts a video on its own.
You plan long-form 16:9 YouTube videos with the Cliptude tools.
- Never pass the video title as prompt. Research the topic, write the spoken narration, and return it as script.
- Call list_templates, then estimate_credits with the template and script.
- Return the title, script, template_id and credits. Do not start a job.

Make vs Zapier vs n8n for automating a YouTube video
All three can call Cliptude's MCP server from a schedule. Make suits you if your automations already live there and you like a visual canvas with per-action credits. Zapier has the simplest built-in approval step but counts every completed action as a task. n8n can run on your own server and bills per workflow run, so a long polling loop costs less there.
| Make | Zapier | n8n | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Calling a remote MCP server | MCP Client app (open beta): Call a tool, Execute an action with AI, and Add MCP on AI agents | MCP Client by Zapier (beta): Run Tool and Run Read-Only Tool | MCP Client Tool (for an AI Agent) and MCP Client node |
| What is counted | Credits: most module actions use 1 | Tasks: each completed action | Executions: one per workflow run |
| Free tier | Free plan, 1,000 credits a month | Free plan, 100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps only | Self-hosted Community edition |
| Approval step | Human in the Loop app in closed beta; otherwise a webhook link | Human in the Loop on paid plans | Send and Wait for Response in Slack or Gmail |

Make pricing: what the scenario costs next to Cliptude
Make bills in credits. The Free plan has 1,000 credits a month; paid plans (Core, Pro, Teams, Enterprise) add more, and annual billing is cheaper than monthly. Every module action uses credits, most of them one; Router and error handler modules use none. Unused credits expire at the end of the term.
A weekly video scenario uses a few credits per run, plus one per get_job check and, if you use Make's AI Provider for the agent or Execute an action with AI, credits for AI tokens. You can instead connect your own OpenAI account and pay OpenAI. The video itself is charged to your Cliptude credits, on a plan from $19; Cliptude has no free plan.

What is Make?
Make (make.com) is a visual automation platform. You build scenarios from modules for more than 1,000 apps, run them on a schedule or from a webhook, and pay in credits: most module actions use one credit. Its MCP Client app, in open beta, connects scenarios and AI agents to remote MCP servers such as Cliptude.
Call a tool or Execute an action with AI?
Call a tool runs the Cliptude tool you name with the inputs you map, so it suits fixed steps such as create_job and get_job. Execute an action with AI hands the server's tools to a model that picks them for a task you describe; Make suggests testing with Call a tool first.
Make's MCP server or the MCP Client app?
Make also runs its own MCP server, which lets AI assistants run your Make scenarios. The MCP Client app is the other direction: it lets Make call an outside server such as Cliptude.
What can you ask Make to do?
"Every Monday at 9:00, write a 10-minute narration on the week's biggest space story and quote the credits with my Science template."
"List my Cliptude templates and tell me which one uses my own voice."
"Check job <id> and post the video link to #videos in Slack when it is completed."
Cliptude answers create_job with a review and a review_token and creates nothing until the same call comes back with that token. In Make, send the review to yourself by Slack or email and only start the job from your approval. Make's own Human in the Loop app is in closed beta, so a link to a custom webhook works as the approval button.
A video takes 10 to 40 minutes to render, longer than one scenario run should wait. Keep the job id in a data store and let a second scenario, scheduled every 15 minutes, call get_job until the job is completed.
Which videos can Make make?
Each format is 16:9 and made from a template you save once. On agent-planned formats the agent chooses every shot and graphic itself.
Faceless Documentary Agent-planned
Narrated documentaries over real footage, archive pictures, maps and charts.
Faceless Top 10 Agent-planned
Ranked countdowns with a numbered title on every entry, ending on number one.
Avatar Video Agent-planned
An AI presenter on screen, with footage and graphics around it.
Vector Explainer Agent-planned
Flat 2D vector scenes, with an optional recurring character.
Talking Head
Your own camera recording, with captions, B-roll and music added.
What the Cliptude MCP server can do
44 tools in 7 groups: templates, voices and avatars (9), making a video (8), product videos from a store (4), agent-planned videos (12), your own narration (2), editing a finished video (8), account (1). Your agent sees them all once connected; estimate_credits, create_job and get_job are the ones most videos need. Every tool, with what it does
Troubleshooting
- The connection fails: check that the URL ends in /mcp and that the clp_ key is in API Key / Access token with nothing else around it.
- The agent never calls a tool: Make's MCP tools for agents keep the server's own descriptions and inputs, so turn on only the Cliptude tools that agent needs and say in the instructions which one to call.
Frequently asked questions
Can Make connect to an MCP server?
Yes. The MCP Client app (open beta) connects to remote MCP servers. Use + New MCP Server with the Cliptude URL and your clp_ key.
Which Make modules call Cliptude?
Call a tool runs one Cliptude tool you pick, and Execute an action with AI lets AI choose among the server's tools for a task you describe. Make AI Agents (New) can also add the server with Add MCP.
Can Make make a video every week?
Yes. Schedule the scenario Weekly, let it write the narration and get the Cliptude review, and start the job only after you approve it.
Does Make need the Cliptude skills?
Make has no skills folder. Put the rules from the Cliptude skills in your agent's system prompt instead; see the skills section below.
What does a video cost?
A faceless documentary is 22 credits a minute with your own voiceover and 40 with an ElevenLabs voice, on plans from $19/mo. Make credits and any AI model are billed separately.
Is there a free plan?
No. Cliptude has no free plan and no free credits.
What is Make.com?
Make is a visual automation platform where you build scenarios from app modules and run them on a schedule, from a webhook or on demand.
Is Make.com free?
Make has a Free plan with 1,000 credits a month. Paid plans (Core, Pro, Teams and Enterprise) add more credits and features.
Does Make.com have an MCP server?
Yes. Make's own MCP server lets AI assistants such as Claude run your Make scenarios. To call Cliptude from Make, you need the other direction: the MCP Client app.
Can a Make AI agent use MCP tools?
Yes. Since June 2026, Make AI Agents (New) has an Add MCP button that adds a server's tools next to Make modules and scenarios.
How do I approve a Cliptude job in Make?
Send the review from create_job to Slack or email with a link to a custom webhook, and start the job from the scenario that webhook triggers. Make's Human in the Loop app is in closed beta for invited Enterprise customers.
Can Make upload the finished video to YouTube?
Cliptude gives you the MP4 link. Uploading it is a separate step with Make's own YouTube modules or by hand.
Make your first video from your agent
Plans from $19/mo to $875/mo, priced per finished minute; a 1-hour documentary costs from $32. Cliptude has no free plan, so watch the sample videos first to judge the output.
