A different kind of AI video editor

Built for AI-generated video,
not raw recordings

Tools like Descript and CapCut are built for people who film themselves. Cliptude's editor is built for the opposite: you never touch a camera. The AI writes the script, generates the voiceover, sources the footage, and assembles the video. The editor lets you refine what the AI made.

  • No recording setup, no lighting, no camera
  • Edit the AI output scene by scene on a real timeline
  • Regenerate only the segments you want to change
  • Re-render a polished MP4 with a single click

What you can do

A full-featured online AI video editor

Every tool you need to take an AI-generated video from good to publish-ready — all in the browser.

Timeline Editing

A multi-track timeline shows every scene, voiceover, music, and SFX clip. Drag to reorder scenes, drag edges to trim, and scrub the playhead to preview any frame. The same kind of precision timeline you'd find in desktop editing software — in your browser.

Swap Footage

Replace any AI-sourced clip with stock video or images from Pexels, Pixabay, and Giphy — or upload your own MP4s and images directly into the project.

Regenerate Voiceover

Change the narration text or switch voices for any individual segment. Powered by ElevenLabs — preview any voice before applying it, then regenerate in seconds.

Data Animations

Insert animated data-visualization components — counters, bar charts, maps, timelines, kinetic typography, mind maps, and more. Use Autofill to let the LLM populate data fields from your script context automatically.

Caption Styles

AI captions are generated automatically via Whisper. Choose from multiple preset styles and apply them globally, or add freeform text overlays to any point in the timeline.

One-Click Re-Render

Hit Render. FFmpeg recomposes all tracks — scenes, voiceover, animations, captions, transitions, and music — into a final MP4 ready to download and upload.

Transitions & Background Music

Choose from scene transition styles — fade, dissolve, slide, wipe — applied between clips at render time. Swap or remove the background music track whenever you want. All audio layers are mixed automatically with the voiceover.

Upload Your Own Media

Bring your own footage, images, or music directly into the editor. Upload from your device and drop files straight onto the timeline — alongside the AI-generated clips. All uploads are stored in the cloud and available across every project.

AI Sound Effects

Describe any sound in plain text — "suspenseful orchestral swell", "crowd cheering", "keyboard typing" — and the SFX panel generates it in seconds. Place it anywhere on the audio track.

Illustrations

Browse a searchable library of Lottie motion-graphic animations and Pixabay vector illustrations. Click any result to insert it as an animated overlay on the timeline — no separate import needed.

GIFs & Emojis

Search millions of animated GIFs via GIPHY, or add Fluent and Noto emoji stickers in every category and skin tone. Each element drops onto the canvas as a positionable, resizable timeline clip.

The workflow

From prompt to polished video in four steps

1

Write a prompt

Describe your video topic. The AI writes the full script, breaks it into scenes, and sources all the footage.

2

AI generates the video

Voiceover, visuals, captions, and background music are assembled into a complete MP4 — automatically.

3

Open the editor

Click "Open Editor" from the progress page. Your project loads into the browser-based AI video editor, ready to edit.

4

Edit & re-render

Trim, swap, regenerate, and polish. Hit Render to produce the final export. Download and publish.

FAQ

Common questions about the AI video editor

Is the AI video editor free?
Opening and editing your project consumes no credits. Credits are only used when you trigger a re-render to produce the final MP4 — the same as generating a new video (approximately 10 credits per minute of output). Cliptude offers a free plan with starter credits so you can try it without a credit card.
Do I need to record video to use the editor?
No. The editor is designed specifically for AI-generated video. Cliptude's pipeline produces the footage, voiceover, and captions from your text prompt. The editor lets you then refine what the AI made — no camera, microphone, or recording studio required.
How do I open the editor?
After Cliptude finishes generating your video, an Open Editor button appears on the video progress page. Click it to launch the browser-based timeline editor, pre-loaded with your project. You can return to edit at any time via the Continue Editing button.
Can I edit my video more than once?
Yes. Every re-render saves your project state. You can re-open the editor at any time, make further changes, and render again. Each render produces a new MP4 without overwriting your previous edits or project state.
What can I edit inside the AI video editor?
You can: trim and reorder scenes on a multi-track timeline; replace footage with Pexels or Pixabay stock; upload your own video, image, and audio files; change caption styles; add text overlays; regenerate individual voiceover segments with any ElevenLabs voice; insert animated data visualizations (charts, counters, maps, timelines); add Lottie illustrations and Pixabay vector art; drop in GIPHY animated GIFs and Fluent/Noto emoji stickers; generate AI sound effects from a text description; add scene transitions; and swap the background music track.
Can I upload my own footage to the editor?
Yes. The Uploads panel accepts video (MP4, MOV), image (JPEG, PNG, WebP), and audio (MP3, WAV, M4A) files from your device. Once uploaded, files are stored securely in the cloud and available across all your projects. Drag any upload directly onto the timeline to use it alongside AI-generated clips.
